Drapery pricing, pleated and ripplefold
Pleat fullness, fabric widths, liner widths and pricing widths, each handled as its own discipline.
Drapery is priced from panel width, fabric width and pleat style. Fabric widths per panel round to the nearest half width; liner widths are calculated separately and rounded only once at the total; and labor uses pricing widths derived from a 54-inch reference so labor and per-width add-ons stay consistent across cloth of any width.
Handled without a spreadsheet
Full pleat table
Single, double, triple, inverted box, cartridge, goblet, butterfly and English box pleats each carry their own fullness and pleat-per-width values. Rod pocket and stitch-for-hooks are correctly treated as unpleated.
Ripplefold by chart
Ripplefold reads a carrier chart per panel, adds return and clearance, and handles butt and overlap masters as separate chart columns. Widths above the chart are halved, looked up, then doubled — carriers included.
Lining and interlining
Header and hem allowances change with lining. Interlining can only be selected when a real liner is present, so an unlined panel can never be quoted with interlining charges.
Seams and surcharges
French seams price per pricing width and switch on automatically for unlined work. Difficult fabric is a percentage of labor plus seams. Oversize finished widths add their own per-width charge.
Why per-panel rounding matters
Rounding a liner to a whole width on every panel and then multiplying is the single most common way a workroom over-orders liner. Silhouette Suite multiplies first and rounds once, which is what your cutter would do at the table.
The same discipline applies to face cloth: half widths are preserved through the calculation and only resolved at the total, so a four-panel pair does not silently gain two extra widths of fabric.
